Acrylics for Beginners from June 28 from 3 to 6 pm

We’ll be diving into the colorful world of acrylics — a super fun and versatile medium that’s perfect for both beginners and those looking to refresh their skills.

We’ll begin with a quick introduction to the materials — the different brushes, paints, surfaces, and how acrylics behave. I’ll walk you through a few useful tips on mixing colors and setting up your palette so you feel comfortable right from the start.

Next, we’ll start with a light sketch of our painting — something simple like a still life, landscape, or a floral theme. Don’t worry if you’re not confident with drawing — I’ll guide you step by step.

Then we’ll start applying our base colors and slowly build layers. This is where the fun begins — blending colors, adding depth, and seeing your painting come to life. I’ll be showing you different brush techniques to help you create texture, shadows, and highlights.

In the final part of the session, we’ll work on the finishing touches — those little details that bring the painting together. You’ll be able to explore your own style while following along, and I’ll be there to support you throughout.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a complete painting to take home, along with the confidence to keep painting on your own. It’s going to be a relaxed, creative, and joy-filled few hours — and I can’t wait to paint with you!

About the Artist:

Hi, I’m Mandakini Rao — a Multi-disciplinary visual artist deeply rooted in storytelling through paint, texture, and detail.

My work bridges traditional techniques with contemporary narratives, often reflecting cultural heritage and personal memory. I’ve collaborated with leading fashion houses, brought art to life in editorial campaigns, and exhibited my work in Galleries.

Each piece I create is driven by emotion, layered meaning, and a love for craftsmanship. Alongside my personal practice, I run an art studio that nurtures creative expression in children and adults alike.

Teaching is a big part of my mission, I believe art should be accessible, joyful, and deeply personal. Through workshops, I aim to create immersive spaces for learning, exploration, and connection. From classical foundations to playful experimentation, I adapt to different styles and skill levels.

Art, to me, is both meditative and revolutionary and I love sharing that energy with others.
