April 18, Saturday (10 am to 1 pm)
Beginner-friendly class suitable for ages 12 to adult.
The Art of Seeing Colour
A playful introduction to colour journaling
This workshop is open to all age groups, beginner-friendly at heart, but even if you already paint or journal, this session can help you reconnect with your palette, especially if you’ve been in a creative rut.
What We’ll Do:
We’ll start by understanding colour at its root:
• How to read a paint tube and understand pigments
• How consistency affects application
• The basics of colour mixing, values, and brush control
• A simple introduction to different paper types
I’ll then guide you through three structured yet playful colour journaling methods that help you explore colour in a calm, meditative way.
We’ll primarily work with watercolours (with a touch of gouache), and towards the end, you’ll create a small finished artwork, likely a watercolour tree by applying everything you’ve learned.
You’ll take home your artwork, and all the knowledge you’ll need about colour journaling along with a clearer understanding of how colour works and how to make it work for you.
All materials are included, just bring yourself.
If you’ve been wanting to feel more confident and connected with colour, this morning is for you.
